HL – Hearthstone Lodge – Award-winning property

After more than a decade in architectural project development, this senior living residence in Auburn, California, entered a new chapter when our studio was invited to reimagine its interiors. The vision was to create an atmosphere of refinement - more retreat than care facility - offering a welcoming environment for its residents and their families. 

The brief called for a balance of beauty, privacy, and timelessness. We prioritised comfort without compromise, integrating natural light, muted tones, soft transitions, and thoughtfully selected furniture to ensure every area felt both accessible and serene. 

Designed by Pomescikova and made by artist Thomas Ramey, the sculptural fireplace anchors the main lobby and is framed with custom shelving, oak paneling, and bespoke furnishings. 
A full-height green wall brings nature into the space, while potted plants between seating areas introduce gentle privacy. We used natural materials wherever possible, with each finish selected for its timelessness, elegance, and durability. 

Delivered over three years, we brought the project to life through close collaboration with design, construction, and artisan teams. Our high-quality 3D renderings, while an added investment, proved invaluable for aligning stakeholders, accelerating decisions, and supporting marketing - ultimately helping create a space that feels meaningful and livable.

Hearthstone Lodge has received the award for the Americas Property Award for excellent Public Service Interior Design.
